Our classes and educational events are open to anyone wanting to learn more about Parkinson's disease. Our programs are offered periodically in various locations throughout Maine.

- A Good Start: When the Diagnosis is Parkinson's
If you or someone you love has been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, you may be faced with new challenges and decisions. You don't have to face them alone. Designed to provide information and support this program is a must for recently diagnosed Parkinson's patients, their caregivers, family and friends.

- Set It in Motion: Caring for People with Parkinson's
Do you wish you knew more about Parkinson's disease so that you are better equipped to care for your loved one? Set It in Motion is a tool to help train those who provide care for people with Parkinson's disease. This program is also very helpful for respite care workers, support group leaders, social workers, nurses aides, certified nursing assistants, emergency response workers, and others who care for people with Parkinson's disease. - Parkinson's Support Group Leader Training
Whether you are a new or seasoned support group leader we have an educational program for you. This program will give you helpful tips on how to make the most out of your meetings.
- The American Parkinson Disease Association's (APDA) New England Regional Symposium
Held every other year, this conference is for people with Parkinson's disease and their family members. Experts in Parkinson's disease throughout New England share information on the latest research, therapies, and programs available to treat PD. The next Symposium will be held on Friday, November 14, 2008 (with an optional program November 13) at the Sturbridge Host Hotel in Sturbridge, MA. To see brochure, click here.

MaineHealth Learning Resource Centers
The MaineHealth Learning Resource Centers offer a wide-variety of classes and programs. Each quarter they provide different programs on healthy aging and self-management skills while others like yoga, Living Well, are always available.
Living Well
A six-week program offered throughout the MaineHealth system is for anyone with a chronic health problem. This progam will help you improve your health — one step at a time.
Learn how to:
- eat for better health
- manage medications
- deal with pain and extreme tiredness
- make daily tasks easier
- exercise
- set goals that are do-able
- develop a better partnership with your healthcare provider.
